The Cockcroft-Gault formula is used to calculate the creatinine clearance to approximate the kidney glomerular filtration rate (GFR).
But remember the Cockcroft and Gault formula overestimates the creatinine clearance. This is because of tubular secretion of creatinine, which is not adjustable.
